How Do We Fix This?

We would also like touch upon some solutions, to solve these effects. Ideally we believe beauty pageants should be banned, however that is not likely to happen. Instead we recommend the following:
  •   The layout and values of the competition be changed, to be based on natural beauty and talent.
  • Showcase women as they are naturally and children as they are naturally instead of focusing on the idealistic image of women that calls for fake hair, and fake teeth and the “perfect body”.
  • Allow women and children to be themselves and compete in an event where they can showcase something they love, be it a science experiment, a dance or a monologue instead of walking and prancing around on stage making “cute” faces at the judges.
  • Allow the children to participate in other events and increase their socializations with other children, to decrease distrust in later life.
  • Bring to light the danger of eating disorders and focus on teaching and helping pageants competitors understand the risks.
